I don’t know who gave it the name Mary Ann, but it was a firebase that supported infantry troops on the ground in nearby areas. During my time in Vietnam I served on several firebases with the 3/82 Artillery — Mary Ann, Crest, Baldy, Casey Jones, and Deja Vu.
