If you put on a thick, soft pad, the recoil at the butt will be less, but the pad will permit the stock to move rearward under recoil more than usual. Pachmayr: The lightest of the three but the worst recoil absorbtion. Use this if you are worried about adding too much weight or don't want to change the balance of the gun.
