It is the most common inflammatory disorder preferentially affecting men (2:1 over females) over the age of 40–50 years. 1 – 3 Incidence and prevalence of IBM have not been well characterized. WebAbstract Aims: The long-terms complications of immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory treatment in idiopathic inflammatory myositis (IIM) are unknown. We sought to determine the complications of these treatments in a large cohort of patients with biopsy-proven IIM.
