WebSep 15, 2016 · Porth Chapel takes it name from what is thought to be the earliest chapel in Cornwall. It was founded near to the beach by St Selevan and it probably dates from the eighth century. The chapel lays just below the holy or sacred well reached by steps -excavated in the 1930’s, some of which have been incorporated into the cliff path. WebChapel Porth Beach is a small sandy and pebble cove at the bottom of a narrow valley on the North Cornwall coast. At low tide the beach extends to an excellent wide beach which is popular with surfers. Note that the sand at Chapel Porth is completely covered at high tide. The coast path can be walked to St Agnes Head for spectacular views.
